“Welcome. I’m Jeff Rulifson — a computer scientist and photographer. This site is the starting point for my professional history, family research, and creative work.”
Quick About
“My career began at SRI International, where I helped develop Doug Engelbart’s pioneering 1968 “Mother of All Demos.” I went on to contribute to the foundations of personal computing at Xerox PARC and later led research teams at Sun Microsystems. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford and am a Fellow of the ACM. Today, alongside my technical work, I pursue photography as a continuing exploration.”

Portrait Invitation
“My wife Janet and I enjoy creating portraits in both the studio and on the street. We work as a team, and always begin with a casual coffee or Zoom meeting to ensure everyone feels comfortable. If you’d like to explore a session, we’d be delighted to hear from you.”
